Pens Engraving
Custom/Personalized Pens?
Hey all,
I'm a little finicky when it comes to pens. I love gel pens, idk why. I'd like to find a place online where I can quick find a gel pen that I can engrave my name on or something, but I can't find any that don't sell in bulk. Can anyone help me? And also, if anyone knows of any sites where you can just build a pen from scratch, feel free to tell me.

P.S.: is a rollerball pen the same as a gel pen? What's the difference?

What do you think about engraving a pen for a birthday gift?
Hi Destiny,
Engraved pens make a wonderful gift. In fact, our pens were very popular during the Christmas season as they are both personalized (showing thought into the gift) and practical, so the recipients loved them. Some things to consider when giving pens are:
Type of pen - some people prefer felt over roller ball and some prefer fountain tips. It helps if you know the type of pen the person writes with the most to ensure they will enjoy using your gift.
Font - pens have limited engraving space so if the recipient has a really long name consider their initials on the pen and a full name on a nice pen box. I would try to stay under 12 characters on most pens or the font will have to be reduced making the name less prominent. For font styles, women tend to prefer fancy script fonts and men tend to prefer block fonts (like Times or Georgia). Most engravers have dozens of fonts to choose from so start thinking about this now.
Other: you can typically opt to have the reverse side of the pen engraved as well. Consider adding "Happy Birthday '10" on the reverse or on a pen box as a reminder of the occasion. If doing a pen box, maybe add "Love, Destiny" as well. Personalized gifts are as much about remembering the giver as anything else.
