Stone Block Engraving

Who has control in this situation?
A while back, I was watching a video of the fire department coming to the rescue of an individual who was involved in a car accident on a public road. The fire truck came, along with medics. The fire department parked their truck in the road, to block traffic from the accident. As the medics were aiding the man in the accident, a police officer showed up, and asked the driver of the fire truck to move his truck, because he was blocking traffic. The fire fighter told him that he needs to block traffic for safety reasons. The cop started arguing with him, and eventually arrested him for not moving his truck.
On the video, it said that the police officer was taken to court by the fire department, and was sued, and ended up being suspended by his department.
Now, in this situation, who has control of the accident scene? The fire/medics or the police? Are there any laws engraved in stone that says one of them has control, or is it a mutual thing that they need to agree on?
The laws in this situation vary from state to state. In my state the police are in charge. However, in this case, on a safety issue, the captain of the fire department would have radioed to the police department that they were having trouble with an officer at the scene, and a sergeant of police would have been dispatched to the scene to take charge.
This should have been done in the incident that you described.
Regards,
Dan

| | Wood Engraving $71.7 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles Wood engraving is a relief printing technique, where the end grain of wood is used as a medium for engraving, thus differing from the older technique of woodcut, where the softer side grain is used. The technique of wood engraving developed at the end of the 18th century and the beginning of the 19th century, with the works of Thomas Bewick. Bewick generally made his engraving in harder woods than normally used, and would engrave the end of a block instead of the side. Finding a knife not suitable for working against the grain in harder woods, Bewick used the engraving tool the burin, which has a Vshaped cutting tip. sealing granite memorial stone?
Anyone know if and how we should seal a block of granite we had engraved to honor my brother? Some folks have told us we need to seal it and other say we should not. Any thoughts out there? We could use some good advice right now
Thank you!!
this engraved granite stone is not in a cemetary but on a mountain top. It is near to the brook that we placed my brothers ashes in. (As he requested tho only 28). sigh. Thank you for the advice folks, I will watch for more input, too.
I used TileLab Protectorant and Sealer on a granite marker for my dog that is exposed to the elements and hit by automatic sprinklers every day. Before I cleaned it and sealed it, the mineral deposits from rain and the sprinklers left ugly deposits (it is black absolute granite). TileLab also makes a cleaner if it is already dirty or has mineral deposits. It will temporarily darken the writing if your marker's writing was etched beneath the polished surface like ours was. But, I do clean and reseal it every year or so, just to keep it looking beautiful. (RIP Boo)
