Which voltage setting for single phase supply?
I am buying a high speed spindle from a company in Italy. They have two different voltage options available for the spindle which are either 220 or 380. I operate my CNC router using a single phase power supply. Can anyone confirm which voltage option I should go for.
My business is located in the UK.
In the UK.
Single Phase = 240 volts AC.
3 Phase = 415 volts AC.
So therefore "single phase" will be in your case "220 volts".

Techniks Multi-spindle Aggregate Head for CNC Routers
Is it possible to reduce the spindle rotation speed on a CNC router below it's normal speed range?
I'm going to be using a CNC router to flycut some MDF and I want to create a slightly rough surface. One machine I am considering buying has a spindle rotation speed range of 6,000 to 24,000 RPM. Does anyone know if it is somehow possible to set the machine to cut at a slower rate?
Do-n-it-4U. Re your answer. If I use a dimmer control, will it reduce the router travel speed as well? As I see it, for me to create a rough surface I either have to increase the travel engraving speed or reduce the spindle speed rate. Obvioulsy being able to do both would be ideal. However, if by slowing down the spindle rotation rate by using the dimmer, you also slow down the travel speed then I would imagine it would pretty much cancel the overall benefit.
I would talk to the manufacturers technical personnel and ask them. Using home remedies on professional equipment that will void the warranty is not how I would go.
