Pocket Watch Engravings
Can Anyone Give Me Any Information About a GSTP Pocket Watch?
The watch itself is in a (what looks like) silver case which splits in to two parts. The watch doesn't have a chain on it, but does have a loop for a chain (this could have just been lost). There are no engravings on the casing, but there is an inscription on the back of the watch itself.
The engraving is 'GSTP 6167."
We've been told that they are definitely military related, perhaps issued to everyone when they enrolled. Also, that it's probably from later than the First World War. Can anyone confirm this?
Also, is there any website that can help me find out more about the watch (e.g. dates and places) or anyone I can contact for more information (preferably within the UK)?
