Order Engraving
Can you get an engraving on your iPod at an Apple retail store?
I was just wondering, because a friend told me I could. I am going to get an iPod nano, and also want an engraving, so I am wondering if I can get the engraving at an Apple store. Also, will they do it if you are just buying one, and it isn't open yet? Just like when you order an iPod online? I would like to know if I should get an iPod at an Apple store, or if I should get it online. If you can get an engraving at an Apple store, please tell me how, and how much money it costs. One more thing...if you order an iPod online, how long does it take to ship? Can you order an iPod from the Apple store online? THANKS!!!
If you want it engraved, you need to order it online and have it engraved. I have personally spoken with someone at Apple, and they do not engrave iPods bought from stores. The circuitry inside the iPod is so delicate that it can be ruined by the vibrations during engraving. Engraved iPods are engraved during the assembly process before they are finally put together. If I remember correctly, it can take 1-2 weeks for delivery of an engraved iPod. I think the guy I spoke to said some people receive them in about a week.

If I order an engraved Ipod will it still ship in 24 hours?
I am looking at purchasing an Ipod touch from the Apple Store online. It says that the estimated shipping is 24 hours. I was just wondering if I get it engraved, if that will slow down the shipping? Any body have experience with this? Thanks!
the only thing that will slow it down is the type of shipment you click when it asks you how quick you'd like it delivered.
i.e.
standard shipping.
for lack of words, two-day shipping.
