can i engrave into marble using a Dremel rotary too?
Marble is quite a soft stone. Get a stone cutting bit for it (I think they do a diamond bit).

the writing is coming off the headstone, what can i do?
my fathers marble headstone has been there for 12 years, and although it is engraved into the marble the black wording is coming off, due to the weather i expect. does anyone know if there is anything i can do,to make it look better, i think it would be very expensive to get it redone profesionally
I would go back to where you bought it, and see what they can do. Maybe its not as expensive as you think. The only other way to do it , is find out what kind of paint they use and do it yourself, just follow whats there.
