Does anyone know about tube cd players?
need some help with cary tube cd player model 855 which is based on a rotel cd(tube) player.
does not always read the cd disk and we already put in a new laser and still will not always read the disk, although sometimes it will play a few songs on cd and then it stops reading cd disk

The Cary is (was) a very expensive player and anything you need to do to fix it will cost significantly more than buying a new high-quality CD player (to the extent manufacturers are even still making CD players).
I have no doubt that audio snobs will claim that the Cary sounds better than regular CD players because the tubes smooth out the sound or its "unsampling" capability or something like that. But I call BS.

a class 4 laser is enclosed in a box and used to drill holes in plastic tubing. about 600 holes are drilled in one cycle and about 1.5 cycles are carried out every minute. could exposure to the air in the box after a long period of time, say 3 hrs have any effect on a person?
