Laser System Diode
Playstation Problem?
I was playing MLB 08, it froze while saving my game, couldn't get it to restart, had to kill the power. The console seems to work fine now - the hard drive appears to be working fine, and all systems are a go - except for the fact, I put in a disc, and it will not play a game, or an actual blu-ray disc. I have it on good advice that my blu ray laser diode is probably burnt out. I have contacted Playstation, and haven't received a response in several days. I would rather just do it myself, but parts and knowledge don't appear to come easy. Anyone have any detailed information they can share? I would rather pay someone local to handle it, but can't seem to find many electronics repair places around 30720
don't listen to the person who said to keep it on for 8 hrs, it won't do anything and it's probably broken. My dad works in the technology department at Sony and he says that you should email or call Sony and if it is within the 1yrs. guarentee they'll give you a brand new one for free. Also if you can't wait go to a electronics dealer to fix it, but Sony will not cover it's liabailty for any damage after that!

i never heard of it, I d rather get it done by a professional then by myself, just think about it, if somethhing happen, they will fix it but if you buy stg and you do it yourself and something goes wrong with your body you will have to deal with it by yourself
