Can you personalize an iPod nano in an Apple store?

So I got the new purple iPod nano and I want to personalize it, but I don't know if the laser engraving is at the store or not. Not the online apple.com store, but as in one in the mall. One of my friends said they have it, but I don't believe him. Help, please?

How do you get an ipod engraved when you already bought it in a store, not online?

I bought a 30 gb video ipod for my boyfriend for a graduation present, but i got it at the apple store, not online. I want to get it engraved so it's less likely to get stolen at college next year for him. I called the apple store after buying it, but they said ipods can only be laser engraved bc any other way can damage the ipod. any ideas or help?!?
