Laser Engraving Cabinet Doors

Does staining wood that has a laser engraved image mess up the image?

I'm making a cabinet out of pine wood. Each of the doors has a mirrored laser engraved image on it. I was going to stain the whole cabinet to match my rooms other furniture. I was wondering when I stain it will it make the image look weird or not show up at all, or anything else?

Any thoughts would help.

First off, do you know if the "other furniture is pine? Stain Color "A" will stain differently on different wood species (ie, Red Oak, Pine, Maple, Hickory) I would do a few test with a pine sample and see how it matches with the other furniture pieces, you may need to go darker or lighter. The "grain pattern" will show up differently with different stain colors. If you are unable to match to the other furniture, you may have to go with a complementing stain color.
