Laser Cutting Glass
My 6 yr old daughter need eye surgery, i need some answers please?
about a year ago my daughters right eye crossed. Like all u saw was the white of her eye. Took her to the dr and he stated that she couldnt see with that eye and her brain was telling her body to shut it down so her stronger eye could work. Well he prescribed her glasses. Her eye straightened for about 4 months and then it started crossing again. He changed her prescription and did the same thing; good for 4 months and crossed again. Well he states that the glass prescription is just fine she can see its just her eye muscles and nerves that are not working anymore, so he is setting her up for surgery.
Now finally my question. I know some of ya'll cant answer this but does anyone have an idea as to how the procedure might be done, all laser, cut her eye open, what? Im just scared and nervous

Strabismus surgery is usually an outpatient surgery (meaning your daughter won't spend the night in the hospital). She will likely be under general anaesthesia during the surgery. Her surgeon will make a small incision over the eye muscles they want to move on the outside of the eye. Her eye will not be cut open and lasers aren't commonly used for these types of procedures. Her eyes will be red afterwards and she may be tired from the anaesthesia. The redness should fade in a few weeks. Her eyes will probably also be somewhat itchy but she may be prescribed drops or ointment to prevent infection (the ointment is also soothing) Good luck!

I'm going into Infantry and wear glasses, when should I get laser corrective surgery, or should I at all?
Glasses aren't so bad, and some of the Wiley-X goggles I've looked at online can be tailored to my prescription. I've got astigmatism too with my near-sightedness, but it's all correctable to 20/20. I know there are a lot of risk with laser corrective surgery, and with my case with astigmatism, it's even riskier to get a perfect cut, so I still might have to wear glasses after getting the laser surgery.
I was thinking about just sticking with my glasses and getting those Wiley-X prescriptions for combat goggles once I'm deployed to my unit. I think that's the best bet, what do you guys think? I guess having perfect eyes would help me quality on the shooting range better when I'm at boot camp, but what can you do right?
Just wear BCG. They are safer.
