Journal Engraving

Where can I buy a fairly inexpensive journal that looks nice and that I can also inscribe w/ initials?

I noticed a friend has begun writing some poetry. For her birthday, I would like to buy her a personalized journal. Something not overly fancy, but nicer than your grocery store notebook. I'd also really, really love the option of having it engraved/inscribed with her name or initials. I've started looking online but everything has been very expensive (like $50 and up up up). I don't have a huge budget but would like to make this a special gift! Any recommendations of sites or stores I could order such journal from?

Barnes & Nobles have really nice journals and they're reasonably priced. I have seen leather bound, hardback, lock and key journals, stap- closure journals - they truly have all kinds.

As far as the engraving - if you get a leatherbound journal - many jewelry shops can engrave or if you have the store "Things Remembered" in your mall - they will.

If you're getting a hard back journal - you can get an 8x8 sheet of scrapbooking paper that goes along with your friends personality and totally recover the front of the journal and make your own inscription or whatever.

Engraved Name Plates for Journal/Book??

Hello Everybody!!

I would like to personalize a hard-bound leather Sketch Book, with a small nameplate on the front outside cover. I was thinking of something similar to the engraved Nameplates on a School Yearbook, or a Journal of some sort; Just a simple Plate that I can get a few lines of engraving on, and somehow mount on the Sketchbook.

I have already bought the sketch book, so I'm really looking for a place that will just do the plate with engraving.... So if anybody knows a place, or an online site that could do something like this, I would Love to hear!! It's to be a Christmas Present so I'm hoping to have it done soon...

A Jeweler, or a trophy shop that does engraving on athletic trophy's would do that for you.
