Hand Engraving Sets
Meddling mother in law!?
Ok, here's the deal...my husband and I have been married for 8 years. For our anniversary we bought jewelry for each other, I got him a white and yellow gold watch that's engraved with our names and he got me a new wedding ring set.
When we got married we bought a very modest 1/3 ct. wedding band set for me. The new set is white gold with 1.4 ct. so yes, it's MUCH larger than the previous one It's pretty obvious to family/friends that I'm sporting a new rock on my hand, it's pretty hard to miss.
My mother in law got really snotty and declared to me that she'd been married for 40 years and worn the same set, wouldn't trade it for the world and wouldn't dream of getting another one.
We've been asked (rudely in my opinion) how much it cost, etc. What's the nice way to respond to my mother in law's prodding and other people's questions about the cost?! It's none of their business!
I've told them it's none of their business but they've kept on pressing the issue as to cost, etc.
Don't you almost wish you could say.... holy sh*t... your son has to take a second job to afford me... LOL
My husband and I got new rings for our 10th anniversary. I ended up getting a really nice ( I dont know what to call it) it was not actually a wedding ring because i found something i liked better...LOL
we were young when we got married and bought what we could afford, and now we upgraded.. so to speak. thank goodness my mother-in-law always says... i deserve everything... sometimes i think she likes me more than my husband.
