i would like to engrave some glass steins, and i would like to know....?

where i could buy a good but not too expensive glass engraver to engrave them on my own.
any ideas? any experiences?
thanks

You actually have a couple of options. You can buy a manual engraver - it's like a pen, an electric engraver - like a drill but you want to practice, or use an etching cream. I use all 3 but with the cream you can create (or buy) a reusable stencil. May I suggest you hop over to http://www.etchworld.com and see the types of things they offer. Then - you can often buy the items in a local hobby store like Hobby Lobby or Michaels - or get it from Etchworld. They ship very quickly.

Paul Revere Coin/other coin?

i have this old paul revere silver coin. its from 1972. on the front of it is a guy(im assuming its revere) and in the back there is a woman holding up a glass infront of a shelf and along the edge it says paul revere silversmith. on the back it says " famous silversmith and engraver paul revere became most celebrated minutemen in colonies when he spread word of british attack april 18 1775. it appears that there are a few words left out. i also have this encased christmas 1988 coin with santa on the front both are fine silver. does anyone have any idea how much they would be worth or if they are worth anything?

Both items are not coins but medals or can also be called silver rounds. Back in 1972 everyone was getting ready for the bicentennial in 1976. Of course things happened in the colonies before 1776, like in 1772. There were a lot of historical medals made back in the 1970's due to the bicentennial coming. It's value is in the silver it is made of, to be silver it must say .999 once on it some place or it is more likely just a silver color. The Christmas round comes out every year and many dealers sell them. They too are a private mint item and are worth the silver content only. I guess you could say both are novelty items. They are not coins. Hope this answers your question
