Folding Knives Engraving

Did men carry folding fruit knives in the Victorian era, or were they for ladies?
My boyfriend collects knives, and I love antiques from the Victorian era...but know nothing about knives and would like to buy one as a gift for him. I have found some beatiful silver, folding fruit knives with mother of pearl handles but many of them have women's names engraved on them. I can't find any information saying whether they were only carried by women or also for men. I would also appreciate tips on what to look for in a Victorian pocket knife since I know nothing about it.
Either sex could use them.

COLD STEEL TRIPLE ACTION TANTO POINT
I think this is French? Can anyone help identify this please?
We have had an old knife for a number of years, it has some engraving on it which says: La Gloire des Allies on one side and on the other it says Guerre Europeenne with these dates underneath 1914.1915.1916.1917
The knife manufacturers stamp says COUVREUX and has a large number 23 stamped next to the word.
Any ideas anyone? It is a long, wooden handled knife and has some other pretty engraving (looks like its been hand done) on the blade, the blade folds into the wooden handle.
I would be interested to learn anything I can about it!
Yes its French,
La Gloire des Allies literally means The Glory of the Allies, could be read as The Glorious Allies
Guerre Europeenne means European War
the dates are the dates of World War 1 (1914-1918)
Couvreux could be name of the place where it was made or the name of the manufacturer, there does appear to be a town named Couvreux in France so I'd guess that's where its from.
Its a WW1 artefact, by having the years on it, suggests it was made after the war and would not have been used in battle. could be valuable but I'd keep hold of it, its a part of history

anybody know if these are any good do they deploy pretty quick?
PSmall daggers weren’t popular in medieval times. The word stiletto it’s a diminutive of stilo. Knives have got smaller because we don’t openly carry them any more. The blade on a cuteddu ammanicatu is usually about 15 -19cm, whereas Sicilian folding knives used to be a lot longer, when they were openly carried. The small dagger came into fashion in the Baroque period as a girl’s knife, and in then probably in the C19th as a concealed weapon. The push dagger were popular in the Southern states during the American Civil war. A small dagger can be marginally faster to draw than an old folding knife like a cuteddu ammanicatu — depending where you where it of course — but a modern folding knife can deployed on the draw. I sometimes carry a Maserin Energy Line, I can’t draw that as fast as I can draw and open my Fox Delta Spec Ops Col Moschin.
u phyco lol? wtf u doing blazing knifes around
it's a fällkniven U2 SGPS if you want to look it up. Amazing knive, I can highly recommend it.
A kukri knife is not a prohibited weapon in Canada. It is more or less a tool, very much like a machete.
