I have recently purchased a fairly expensive ring for my girlfriend for Valentine's Day, and on the inside of the band (18kt white gold) the word CHINA is engraved. This seemed very out of place and a bit tacky to me, but I don't really know much about jewelry, as this was my first time buying. The ring was from a legit local jewelry store that I was referred to, but I didn't notice the engraving until I left. Is this common or should I take it back and ask them to remove it? I need help fast!!
Go back and tell them. I have never had a nice piece of jewelery (anything that is real gold or silver for that matter) say china on it.

THE ART OF ENGRAVING brings to the reader - for the first time ever - a complete authoritative imaginative and detailed introduction and training in the art of gun engraving. Unlike so many so-called "instruction manuals" The Art of Engraving does not assume you know anything about engraving. You start at the beginning by learning to draw scrolls and layouts then cut practice plates until you are sure enough of your ability to actually proceed to designing a pattern t Mfg: Brownells

Where can I find a white gold engagement ring with filigree or engraving?
My boyfriend has asked me to show him the kind of ring I like, but all the filigree/carved rings (don't know exactly the term) that I can find are platinum. Here are two examples of the STYLE I like...
have you ever seen this anywhere in white gold?? (note the carving along the side.. stuff like this or like the Ritani Romantique collection (www.ritani.com)
Thanks all!
Tacori makes very similar designs, most of theirs are offered in either platinum or 18K white gold.
