Engraving Sandstone

Dose any one know how to stick vinly to sandstone?
Hi I have just bought a plotter and want to engrave things on sandstone i also have a sand blaster I just need to know how can i stick the vinyl to the stone dose any one know of any products
I've worked with cut vinyl for a couple years; good luck! The surface isn't really suitable for it. Are you using the cut vinyl for stencils? Will that hold up under the sandblasting?

Info about engraving in sandstone?
I've moved to the country and lost one of my dogs. Would like info to engrave her name in a beautiful sandstone rock.
I'm sorry to hear about your dog. Engraving her name in a stone to remember her is a nice thought.
I don't do sandstone sculpting but had a chat with a sandstone sculptor a while ago. Sandstone is fairly soft stone which can easily be worked with metal tools. When I tried I had the impressing it was like hard sculpting (chisel, scrape, stab, file, etc.). Less refined than I was used to as it was like a controlled crumbling of the material. The grain size also limit the detail level I could work at. Still for bigger things it's well suited. This property has advantages and disadvantages. Advantage is that you don't need many special tools and can learn to sculpt fairly fast (though master it takes a fair bit more time). Disadvantage is that the material is relatively vulnerable. So if it's handled much or outside: keep in mind it will wear doen. harder stones like granite are much better suited for monuments for that reason.
I hope this helps.
