Engraving Sandblasting Equipment

how can i sandblast my name on granite without any expensive equipment?

I would like to sandblast my name on my granite counter top, I'm not into buying those expensive sandblasting equipment. Is there a way that i can engrave my name on a granite the cheap way? I've seen some guides on sandblasting a design onto a small metal music player. They only used a specific type of granule and sand mixed with water.

NO .Sand blasting is either carried out with compressed air or water or a mixture of both and then an abrasive grain is added to the stream .Both the equipment pumping the blasting medium and the nozzle controlling the stream must be harder than the blasting medium .As such they are expensive .You could try using an etching tool but it will not give as fine a finish as sand blasting .Some acids will etch granite but again it is expensive to buy and I think you need licences and valid reasons before you will be allowed to purchase it .Etching one worktop at home will not be a valid reason and suppliers are unlikely to supply such a small amount of acid anyway.
