THE ART OF ENGRAVING brings to the reader - for the first time ever - a complete authoritative imaginative and detailed introduction and training in the art of gun engraving. It is a supremely unique book for not only does it sweep aside the mystery which has surrounded engraving through the centuries but it factually simply and in layman's terms tells you how to engrave. Unlike so many so-called "instruction manuals" The Art of Engraving does not assume you know anything about engraving. You start at the beginning by learning to draw scrolls and layouts then cut practice plates until you are sure enough of your ability to actually proceed to designing a pattern t Mfg: Brownells

This book is an easily followed, simple how-to-do-it manual on wood engraving for the beginner, written by a master of the field. The processes of printing and engraving are clearly explained, together with their material requirements, up-to-date variations on techniques, and all the tips and methods that the author has found helpful in 30 years as a practitioner. The book is also a beautiful object in its own right and as the author Simon Brett`s work is highly collectible, the book will be particularly welcome to all those who treasure his work and fine wood engraving in general.

Carseat with no expiration date?
My friend just had her baby last night! She isn't with the father anymore. He's a bum. So since I'm the godmommy I will be helping as much as possible. She has this carseat she was givin by her mom. There is no printed manufacture date or expiration date on it. No stickers and no dates engraved in the plastic. She says its fine but my brother had his son 8 years ago and had the same model carseat. I have to bring all her things in tomorrow morning to take her and the baby home. What do you think the hospital will do about the carseat?
They may not let her bring him home in it. at the hospital i went to they checked the car seat to make sure it was OK. You can always go to a secondhand shop and get a car seat. The only downside with that is you never know if that carseat has been in an accident. Good luck with your friend, your doing a wonderful thing being there for her. its going to be really hard on her not having someone to help out.
