What's the name for...?

The object (usually made of like black marble) that they stick trophies on top of, and it usually have the name engraved into this object.

I thought it was called a ''Plaque'' but isn't that what they call germs xD!

But i'm not sure how to explain what im talking about. But like, say a bowling trophy, you'd have a bowling ball made of gold attached to a black object where your name is written. Y'know? :S

Both are called plaque. One is found in the blood and the other is normally attached to a wall or piece of furniture.
I think yours would more aptly be called a trophy as you are given it, and you could brandish overhead in triumph like a trophy, earned as a result of some feat in sport, community service etc.

You mean the gold plate where your name is engraved. Its a plaque. But plaque is also the icky stuff on your teeth.
