what materials are needed to make a template for engraving marble for use with a sandblaster?

I just did this for my kids. I made a grave marker for a pet we had to have put down. I used thick double sticky tape and applied it to the stone. Then I put a sheet of paper on it that had the words and shapes that we wanted to cut out. I then carefully took an exacto knife and spent a few hours cutting out the letters and a silhouette of a cat and a cross. I was surprised at how well the sticky tape and paper protected the stone from the sand blaster. In no time at all, I was between 1/16 and 1/8 inch deep everywhere on the stone that had been cut out. I held the nozzle about 6 inches away and I'm not sure what pressure I was operating at. Not sure if this helps, but good luck.....
