Engraving Flutes

I bought something 2 days ago from a store that has a no return policy. I didn't pick it up. Am I stuck?

I bought some champagne flutes from a Baccarat store in the mall. I didn't realize that they had a store credit only return policy. Since I was thinking about having them engraved, I had them hold on to the flutes while I was deciding. Now they don't want to give me my money back. I am thinking that they can't really do this, because I never actually took possesion of the flutes. Also I am in Texas and didn't know if there was a 72 hr contract law that I could use to get out of it. If they keep pushing me, I was going to cancel payment on the credit card. What should I do and what can I expect?

I agree somewhat with the first answer that was submitted, but I have a different angle on this since I actually own a retail sales store. You have to remember that a company's reputation is going to be protected before they try to "stick" you with a one item purchase. Here is what will happen. You do have them between a rock and a hard place because you don't have the item. If you took the item out of the store, then you would really have to suck up to get your money back. Since you didn't, they don't "legally" have to give you your money back, but it would be really bad business. They would be using the law to their advantage, and being in retail sales that is not a good idea. Here is what you do, call the store manager and explain the situation nicely. He/she is going to try to resell you the item by finding out what your objections are and overcoming them. Be patient and give no information other than you just don't want them or you just can't afford them. The 2 things that a salesman cannot overcome is either ignorance or poverty. Soon you will wear them down and they won't see any way out but to give you your money back, as they cannot force you to pick up your item. It would be quite unbusiness-like to not do so. GOOD LUCK!

Ordered from Oriental Trading Company...?

So I ordered my gifts for my groomsmen, glass steins with their intials engraved in them, and our toasting flutes which are personalized for our wedding. I ordered them on April 28th and they still haven't been shipped. My wedding is the 31st!

I was wondering if anyone else has ordered something personalized from them and how long did it take? Second, anyone know of a way to contact them? I haven't had any luck finding any contact info!

I have been using Oriental Trading for about 20 years.
My most recent purchase I ordered the wedding pencils including engraving with no problems. If you can't reach anyone by calling the 1-800-875-8480 look on your confirmation pages you should have received when you placed the order, if you ordered on line you should have received an email with this information. I receive emails constantly from them and the number above is the number I use. I have included their link for tracking orders, and a link for contacting them by email. The second link will guide you for immediate information about your order. On their main web page it has a link to take you to their tracking orders.
