what is a good type of ring for a guy...? ASAP please?

I'm getting my bf a ring for his birthday and I'm looking at them and have no idea whats the best type (I'm looking on ebay by the way)...I've seen ones that say titanium, tungsten carbide?? I want something resonably priced (like under $100) and I want to engrave it...any suggestions? Thanks

Something "manly", lol. I would suggest either something with celtic knots, or something thick, with a tarnished-looking silver, and an onyx stone. Actually, I remember Jack Daniel's having a really good looking ring, pretty high dollar, but with a little personality (not too flashy). Even if you decide not to get it, something along that design would look good.

Just make sure it has a strong, durable look. I would suggest one big, solid opaque stone, (again) like onyx, possibly with some etching. Silver is a must, but gold as a secondary is fine.

I tried to drill it with tugsten carbide bore, but it failed
to make a scratch.
