A Father Necklace? Representing a Daughter?

My Husbands over in Iraq & I'm back in the states with our 3 month old baby girl. He wants a necklace to represent her, but all I can seem to find is dog tag style pendents for men. ( Hes kinda sick of dog tags at the moment) I thought maybe something simple like an alphabet block necklace, but that seems chincy. So if anybody knows of a nice pendant that's engrave-able and not feminine looking.

Hand Engrave Watch Back

Inherited what is purported to be a Goya etching/engraving/print.?

The only mark is an upright, block-style "G" in the upper right hand corner of the matting. Does not look like Goya signatures I have researched. It illustrates dogs attacking a bull with peasants looking on, obviously in a bullfighting arena. The arena and the peasants' faces look like other Goya works. Any thoughts? In Phoenix area, any suggestions for appraiser, other than Christie's or Southebys? Have not looked at the actual back since it is framed and papered.

You have to find someone who can make an educated appraisal of the work and see if it can be identified or rejected as Goya's work.

The block letter G sounds like a printer's mark and may not have anything to do with the artist--unless it is the same printer and mark that was known to print other of Goya's work.

I would suggest an art history professor or museum curator who concentrates on Spanish Baroque or Goya's work. They may at least be able to get you in touch with someone who could be of help.

Btw--don't remove it from the frame until someone has had a chance to see it in that state first. It may lend some help in identifying it that isn't obvious.

Goya was a prolific etcher/printmaker. You may very well have something pretty cool from old Aunt Martha. : )
