Tombstone Question?

I was wandering what kind of machine that tombstomes are made out of today? such as as high pressure water engraver or i heard something about lasers..

The stone is still cut by hand. An engraver usually makes a template to show where the letters should be cut and applies the "mask" to the stone. That allows for precise placement. After the letters are cut, they are blackened for greater contrast using a fill material that seems to be part paint and part rubber. The mask is pulled off the stone when the work is done so there is no scratching or chipping.

This is all from a conversation I had once 20 years ago with someone in the business.

most laser engravers can cut acrylic, but it s better for you to use special laser cutting machine, of which the optimized design is specialized in cutting and cutting effect is very good. if you insist on buying common laser engraving machine, it s very necessary to buy the machine with knife shape working table.
note: don t believe 60w or 80w laser power can cut 20mm acrylic, it is impossible. even the acrylic is cut through, the edge is extremely awful.
normal value is: 60w laser power can cut 8-10mm acrylic, 80w laser power can cut 8-15mm acrylic.
