Driver Power Supply What will happen if I don't have sufficient power for a new video card.?
I recently bought a nVidia 512 Mb 8600 gt video card, and it says i need a 350 watt power supply, but mine's only 250 watts. It would be a while before i could afford a good power supply high enough to support the card. If I were to plug in the video card and install the drivers with this low power supply, would I just experience decreased performance or would it fry the card?
Just replace the power supply. A "middle of the road" 500 watt power supply is only @ $40.00 - $50.00. Just remember to remove it along with your new video card if you replace the system.
The Fryette Valvulator I V1 combines two useful and powerful features, a Vacuum Tube Buffer/Line Driver and a Multiple Output Regulated DC Power Supply. The Fryette Valvulator I Line Driver is a ruggedly built, compact pedal board and professional or home studio tool that operates on standard AC wall current and is housed in a rugged steel chassis topped with a sleek stainless steel vented cover. AC-powered. Degradation of tonal quality is caused by three things: 1. Loss of high frequency response due to cable capacitance. 2. Loss of signal level and high frequency response due to impedance effects. 3. Signal degradation caused by the design of the circuitry in the effects device. The Fryette Valvulator I solves all three of these problems using a vacuum tube based Buffer circuit to change your guitar signal from high impedance to low impedance. You will be amazed at the renewed responsiveness of your instrument as well as the effect on your playing. In addition, the Valvulator I Line Driver input stage uses the same circuitry as that found in the input stage of most guitar amplifiers. This means you get the same dynamic feel from your instrument as you would if you were plugged directly into your amp. The Fryette Valvulator I V1 provides four regulated and isolated outputs which will supply you with all of the clean regulated power you need to ensure maximum signal output and frequency response from you pedal devices. And because the line driver's power supply outputs are individually isolated, you never have to worry about ground loop hum.
Lehle’s Sunday Driver is not just for Sunday afternoons, it is a high end preamp with a convenient compact format. Featuring JFET-based circuitry and providing two modes of operation, with selection via a mode selector switch with gold-plated contacts. Lehle Sunday Driver Modes Mode D , as in Driver, amplifies the guitar signal with absolutely no modification, at the input impedance of a guitar amp, efficiently eliminating losses on the route through leads and effects; the signal remains strong and clear, retaining its full dynamics. Mode S , as in Sunday multiplies input impedance by four, bringing out previously inaudible details and, as gain increases, imparting to the guitar sound a characteristic and unmistakable warmth that has given this preamp its name - the result is a sound as mellow as a sunny Sunday afternoon! Even at a 15dB gain setting, the Lehle Sunday Driver always stays clean and absolutely free of background noise, thanks to its studio-standard signal-to-noise ratio of over -100 dB. To exploit the dynamics of tube amplifiers to the full, the input voltage is also rectified from the power supply socket, then filtered, stabilized and doubled to 18V. With its broad output range of 20 to 100,000 Hz, the Lehle Sunday Driver, powered by a standard 9V (PP3) battery, can be used anywhere, whether as a cable driver for stadium and other large stages, in complex effects set-ups, or as a recording preamp.

PowerMac G4 (Mirror Drive Doors) Power Supply Replacement
Is there any way to know what power supply your computer has?
It's not in the system properties, or in the drivers list, or on the backside of the computer.
I'm on a Dell XPS 430 if it matters. The power supply is 425 wutt PSU
Will it be compatible with a 250 GTS?
Most often the only way to find details on the power supply is to open the case and look for a decal on the unit itself. Depending on what other components you have a 425 watt PSU should run all but the most extreme graphics cards. Although for the 1 GB card they do recommend a 450 watts PSU.

you dont sound like a tool dont worry
it's some kind of “music”. it is extremely annoying.
