Homemade laser power supply?

I just bought a 350~400 mW 405nm laser diode with a driver and the aixiz laser module. along with this, ive purchased a 2.3 ohm resistor and a small momentary switch.
i'm wondering what voltage and amperage i'll need to power it. i've seen a 150 mW diode with the same driver powered by 2 1.5v button cells in series. should i stick with just the 2 or should i use 3 or even 4?

any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated.

im not sure but be care full i tried building a small arc furnace at home once and it fried out all the wiring in my garage. caused a fire at the conduit.
