Desktop Cnc

If I have a dual monitor set up, can I play a game(such as CnC 3) on a screen and have the other as a desktop?

I want to be able to play CnC 3 or CnC Generals on one screen and have the other as a dektop, so I can browse the internet, use IM, etc..

Hi there. This will partly depend on the abilities of the video card you have installed. Without knowing any information about your video card, I would say to try visiting the vendor of whomever makes your video card and ensure you have the latest drivers. Part of that same download should include a control panel that you can use to define which monitor does what. Then, depending on the game's capabilities, you can put the game in a Windowed mode and use the second monitor as a desktop.

I can't play command and conquer 3 on my computer?

I have a Emachine W3653 desktop computer. I purchased a Nvidia GeForce gaphics card and I have the latest driver for it. I have also purchase an additional 2 GB ram for this game. When I play I get a Direct 3d error. Saying something about an unknown mod and something about the cnc data file. Nvidia Geforce 6200 OC is suppose to be compatible with command and conquer tiberium wars. Does any know how I can fix this.

no offense, but playing cnc3 with a 6200 is pretty much the same as not playing it at all. I had a 7800Gt and was having trouble playing it. If you can, get yourself a 800GT and you will be rocking the house. As for your problem... hmm. Whats your OS, if its vista, then it might be a permissions thing (run as admin). Can you be a little more specific with the prob, maybe a screen shot. I could have sworn I had a similar problem, maybe if I see it ill rem. GL!
