What does Sigilvm Oppidi Lodzia 1577 mean?

I have a copper plate with a picture of what seems to be a boat and paddle on the inside, and sigilvm oppidi lodzia engraved around the outside.

Any ideas to what those words could mean. I put them through a Latin to English translator and it came up with Seal Fortified Town. Any other ideas?

I want to know price of the original book of THE HEPTAMERON, of the tales of Margaret , Queen Ravaree.Third Volume. The illustration are reproductions from the copper-plates engraved for the Berne edition by LONGEULI, HALBOU, and other eminent French artists of the eighteenth century.
