Antique Door Knobs: Vintage Beauty

There was actually a time wherein homeowners could not wait to have their ornate knobs be exchanged with faceless ones with smooth finishes of nickel, brass and copper. It got to a point when engraved faces and glistening glass of the old style of door knobs became obsolete and thousands of door knobs ended up in the bins of cities throughout the world but surprisingly, today, antique door knob is the way to go. It's what everybody wants.

In the market today, original antique door knobs would cost a fortune but with the kind of technology that we have, there are already a handful of manufacturers that jumped into the marketplace with replicas of antique door knobs as well as new designs that capture the age-old look many homeowners want. Such new manufactures is very budget-friendly compared to the antique ones that's why most people are going for it. It's not just door knobs that they make but also, keyhole covers and thumb turns to skeleton keys and strikers.

Now, with strikers, nothing breaks the illusion of the vintage when something clearly modern lies just beyond the edge.
