Using a frequency inverter 0-250 with a high speed spindle 300Hz. Would the spindle work?

I operate a CNC router table with a high speed spindle. I'm looking to upgrade to a new spindle but need to know if the frequency inverter I currently have will work with this new spindle.

The new spindle has a frequency of 300Hz.
The frequency inverter display goes from 0 up to 250 (I take it the display is indicating a measure of Hz)

Would the spindle not work at all or would it just not reach it's top speed?

The frequency inverter make and model is:

Starvert SV008iC5-1F
Single Phase

The inverter can be adjusted to go up to 400 Hz, but there is probably a maximum limit adjustment that must be set to match the motor. There are probably also voltage, current, power and RPM settings. When you connect a new motor, you need to get motor data from the nameplate or specification sheet and enter it into the inverter. After entering the motor data, the inverter will "tune" itself. If you don't have the inverter manual, you need to download it from:
