Are there any fans of Gustave Dore's works?
I'm a huge collector of his works: paintings, Large prints and books.
I would like to know, does anyone have any information of his individual large prints?
These large prints are known to be very scarce. Keep in mind, these prints are not from his books, but steel engravings albeit are replicas were done in the 19th century from his paintings.

For a book on Jewish art my publisher needs copyright permission for illustrations. Phone: 310 274 2913?
The illustrations are prints, i.e., engravings, etchings, lithographs, that were made post 1922. I owned some, some were photographed from books, others from old newspapers in the U.S. and Europe. There are about 100 items. Some are by well-known artists, others by minor, but interesting people, some are anonymous. How do I find out if they are in the public domain or can be referred to as "fair use"? How can I supply the publisher with the necessary copyright material?
The publisher should know?
However, you could contact an attorney who specializes in copyright law to assist you.
Otherwise, if you live by a local law school, you could consult one of the professors that teach there, which will probably be free.
