Is this a good haiku poem to use for a Vietnam Memorial assignment?

I decided to use a haiku poem to describe the impact that the Vietnam Veterans Memorial had on me. I saw many pictures of the never ending wall and was amazed at the design of the shiny reflection staring back at the visitors. Looking at the photos, I saw symbolism in that when people visit the wall and look at the names of the loved ones they lost, the reflection reminds them that the soldiers are always inside them.

I don't believe a haiku is such a great idea for a memorial poem. Usually a haiku is meant to represent something leading to nature and stillness. It's a great haiku but it doesn't have much impact because it's so short. maybe you should try something a little longer with more meaning and impact.

Need to update my kitchen cabinets?

They are stained a dark color, and have a routered line/groove engraved in them for decoration. My house is 30 years old and they look 30 years old. What is an inexpensive way I can update them without having to replace all of the cabinets or just paint them? I have a gray with black granite countertops, and a stainless steel backsplash. I have lots of cabinets and countertops, and can't spend a fortune updating these.

If it were me, I would sand them down as mentioned already if they are made out of solid wood and stain them. OR I would replace the cabinet doors (not the cabinets themselves) with a new and updated door. It is much cheaper than replacing the entire cabinets and can give you the modern and updated feel to match the countertops and stainless backsplash you already have. An example would be to sand down the cabinets themselves if they are solid wood. And choose the cabinet doors that best match your motif. Then paint the cabinets to match your new cabinet doors. I would probably choose a cabinet that has a frosted translucent window, framed in black or a deep mahogany stain for your kitchen.
