Wedding backdrop to cover ugly wall?

HI!
So I need some cheap ideas to create a backdrop for my reception hall. It is a senior center and the wall where we may be putting the head table is covered in those ugly brown and brass award plaques on a ugly yellow/brown wall. We want to create a backdrop to cover it so the pictures will come out nicely. Any ideas. I know we could do fabric but how would I hang it. We are not allowed to hang anything on the walls or from the ceiling. Ideas???

I just got married a couple months ago so I know what you are going through! The easiest thing to do would be to go to a party rental store and see if they have backdrop rental. If you can't find something in your area or it is too expensive you could try to make your own. This one has a kit, and you can buy the frame for $147 and use your own fabric. http://www.onlineeei.com/drapes.cfm

Or just see how it is designed and try to build your own from materials at your home building store. You could use PVC pipes to make it lightweight.

Where is a place where I can buy an engraved plaque meant for quotes?

My mother's birthday is coming up this September; I find it so hard to find that perfect gift because she doesn't give that many hints. This year, I found a good one though. She just got into the real estate business, and in her room she printed out on plain paper some quotes to keep her motivated. So what I was thinking was to get her an actual nice plaque with one of the quotes engraved into it. Does anyone have any idea where to get something that might fit that? I looked online and all i could find are plaques for awards and stuff.

Try a sports shop or someone that deals in making sports trophies. They also sell plaques and will put pretty much anything you want on them. If You found one that did award plaques they should be able to custom make one for you.
